TIE Change?
Have been here nearly six years we both have TIE's with current address on ( two years to go until we go permanent). Will we have to update them (and how) with our new address or can we wait until we change them to permanent?

You get issued a TIE when you take residency - but for the first five years you are a temporary resident. Your permanent residency is granted automatically after 5 years residence

If I understand the question correctly the situation is this. The OP is moving house to a new address. The TIE will have her old address on it. Is she required to change the address on the card now or can they wait until it's time to renew the card in two years time.
And the follow on from that is how and where does one change the card? is there a form to fill in?

It’s not necessary to change the card - as long as CNP have been notified of change of address.
to get a new card it’s like applying for a new TIE - fill in a form, pay the fee, renew the card

TIE is issued for residency. It will say “Temporary” until 5 years legal residency have passed at which point your perm at residency is automatic and when you renew your card, you’ll get one saying “permanent”
