Moving to area

It's all so personal!!!!! We have 2 properties, one inland in Murcia and 1 on the Almeria coast and we love them both but for differing reasons, I think the best advice would be to come out and rent for  a period of time say inland like Albox/Arboleas or on the coast like Vera Playa. Bring your own vehicle if poss to get around and then visit all the areas. Take anything Estate Agents/Inmobilarias say with a ton of salt. The market is totally stagnant, worse since Brexit, and there are huge bargains to be found although unlikely through Estate Agents. Ask around especially Brit Bars for anyone desperate to go back, lots now worried about Health Cover and Pensions. Even advertise in the local freepress papers giving your cash limit. Use a Money Transfer Company to transfer money out not a Spanish Bank which will charge a huge transfer fee, find an honest Solicitor (they are around) as you have to be sure that any property is legal and doesn't have loans against it or is part owned by other family members. Please be aware that there are a huge number of cowboys still out here in all disciplines all too ready to con you and separate you from your cash. After 13 years and innumerable cons we now use Spanish wherever poss (Google Translate and Smart phone) and have only 1 Brit builder we use.

You may find Partaloa rather remote, something like nth west of Albox and you'd deffo need a vehicle of some sort.

Partner and I before we came saw some great properties in sadly remote locations, be aware the Arboleas covers a huge physical area for example.

You will need to factor in location and what there is in the immediate area, bars, restaurants etc.

In the main the Albox/Arboleas even Huercal Overa region are around 45 minutes from the coast with lots of villages on the coast road from Villaricos thru to Mojacar.

Have fun when you come, dont fall in love with the first property you see/find but you just might lol.
