Buying a Villa in Partaloa

Hi - We are looking to move to Spain later this year and like the look of Partaloa but haven't actually been there yet. We have travelled extensively in Spain and visit at least twice a year, inland, northern and the 'costas' so know we would prefer to be inland with a bit of an ex-pat community but a Spanish feel and culture too. Could someone please tell us more about the town/village, what everyday facilities there are etc. My one biggest concern is buying a 'legal' property. How do we get cast iron confirmation that the property we would potential want to purchase is legal as there have been some real horror stories.

Can't comment on Partaloa as only visited a few times from the Coast.

The answer to your concerns about legality is simply to employ a Solicitor you know from recommendation to be totally professional, honest and unbiased. Not sure if you posted on a local Facebook Forum which received over 30 responses.

Our response was that you consider Amanda Oakley. Solicitor. Zurgena. In 15yrs here never heard anyone so globally recommended.

Of course, whatever you do, avoid any Solicitor recommended by the Estate Agent. Potential Conflict of Interest.

Perhaps you would also consider joining Arboleas Forum on www.arboleas.co.uk for a more focussed audience. Post on General Chatter after joining.

Lastly, RENT in the area before buying.

Hi,

We bought a villa in 2016 in Piedra Amarilla (it's a part of Partaloa) for shopping etc you need to go to Albox. We had the same problem buying a legal house. If you want to be sure your house you want to buy is legal, then beside taken a sollicitor take a loan from a Spanish bank I paid around 1000€ cost, but the bank will check the property, because they don't take the risk it's not legal, after I signed the contract for the house I paid the loan back (I got this advise from someone I know who sold houses in Spain)
