My brother is coming to visit me next week and in the UK is exempt from wearing a face mask due to suffering from bad asthma.

What documentation will he need to show The Spanish Police to prevent being fined for not wearing a mask indoor or in a crowded area?

He has contacted The Spanish Embassy in          London who were very unhelpful and did not give a clear answer.

He’ll need at the very least a document in Spanish attesting to his exemption; better if it’s from a Spanish doctor - even then, I’m not certain that will suffice.  I have not as yet seen ANYONE not wearing a mask indoors, and I believe exemptions here are few and far between.

He has tried one of them before and brought on an asthma attack.

I think he’ll have a problem, we were in France two weeks ago and everyone without exception was wearing a mask in the shops, I asked the security man at a lasupermarket about people too sick to wear a mask and the reply was “if they are too ill to wear a mask then they are too ill to be out” Not a very sympathetic reply

Can’t help but agree. I have COPD and technically exempt in U.K. but I always wear a mask indoors. In U.K. and Spain.

I also don’t think visors are sufficient, we have been told by a town hall official that we must wear masks outside in a street market,

Of interest, Brittany Ferrys will not allow “snood” type masks that can be pulled up from around the neck, it must be a “proper” mask when on board

How on earth is he getting to Spain? All airports, planes, ferries insist on mask. I for one would refuse to sit next to a non-masked person on any flight.
