Hi

We will be making a permanent move to palomares,we have some furniture that we want to bring with us from the UK, does anyone have any contacts , tips on the best or cheapest but reliable way of doing this,I am considering hiring a van from the uk either on a one way hire ( if possible) or doing a round trip and then flying back, alternatively of course hiring a man and a van or a moving company , any pointers?.

Thanks in advance for any advice / ideas

Hi

We used Advance Moves which I believe are a Kent based firm with a base in Murcia, therefore not too far from Palomares. Hopefully they are still operating

We have just moved to Spain ourselves. We arranged all the larger items to come over before xmas & the rest of our personal belongings are in storage now in UK. As the UK has now left Europe importing your goods over is not as easy now. Every box or bag needs to be itemized. Certain things cannot be brought over like plants & alcohol.

There are charges for customs, clearance & all sorts of other things. There are companies that can still do this for you but its not so cheap now.

Also I understand that if you hire a van to bring it over yourself you need to complete various import forms etc whereas removal companies can do this for you.

We have a right headache with all this at the moment.

Good luck
