What is the beach like
I'm thinking about buying in palomeras and hoping to visit in October could anyone tell me what the beach is like rustic or sandy.
what do you mean by rustic? most vera beaches are sandy but usually because the council put extra sand down on top of the shingle and stoney areas that gets washed away in bad weather. villaricus beach is black stone.

Thanks Alicia great help
We have had an apartment in Palomares since 2003 and used to stay in Villaricos for over 15 years before.
Palomares beach is sandy, imported sand, and does not get washed away as bad in the winter since breakwaters were put in several yeas ago.
THe beach runs from the headland just south of the Almanzora, joining Vera Playa beach that goes right to Garrucha. It is always quiet with two beachbars that are open in the summer months. No watersports on it but we love it.
There are occasional incursions from the nudists from the nudist area of Vera Playa but not a problem unless you are very prudish.
We think it is a very nice village, not touristy and I fee much maligned in guide books because of the bombs in 1966.
I think you will like it

I love the beach in Palomares, very natural and unspoilt. We purchased last year and hoping to be there permanently in October.

I like the simplicity of Palomares and it proximity to lots of places around like Villaricos, Vera, Vera Playa, Antas etc. Where we are, we can see the sea and it’s only a 15 min walk to the beach or a couple of minutes in the car. There has been things said about the boozy Brits in a Saturday afternoon in the square enjoying the live music, but take it with a pinch of salt. It’s there if you want it in the winter months and I have only ever witnessed a lovely atmosphere and people enjoying themselves. We’re happy to answer any questions if we can although obviously this is relatively new to us too. The buying process was easy and stress free. Good luck in your search!

We have now been able to rearrange our ferry and will be out in September for 3 weeks with our two dogs.
It has been a long time since last December.. We miss our regular morning coffee in Bar Valero in Palomares, Tapas in Rincon del Puerto (Garrucha), Meals in Dulce Casa and of course my "Old" lads night out on Fridays at San Bernabe in Mojacar!
