Hi

I am new to Palomares having just bought a apartment here. I enjoy doing road cycling and I am wondering if anyone has any advice or routes I can download. Also if there are any bikes for sale in the area.

Many thanks

Tony

Have a look at the buy and sell section of the forum.  Also segunda mano (Google).  There's a bike shop on the corner after you go over the bridge towards Buganvillas roundabout, they have new and used bikes .  An English guy works in there and maybe able to help with routes.

Otherwise there are lots of cycling tracks around through into Vera and further afield.  We just go out and follow our noses, get lost sometimes but for us that's the fun.

Thanks for your reply.

I will give that a look when I’m over next in October. I agree with you regards following your nose and I have a handy feature on my bike computer (back to start) so can’t really go wrong.
Thanks again

Tony

There is an amazing new cycle only route Tarmac surface. Partly the Louis Siret route but the new part goes all the way to Cuevas!

This is a very new route and to my knowledge nothing yet available to download. You can pick up the start of the Louis Siret route in Villaricos by the roundabout. Follow to the dry river bed and turn right on a gravel walkway. There are road signs at the far end where you head for the defunct de salination factory and thence on a little used road going past Louis Siret house ( not lived in ). The road has markings for cyclists and eventually at the edge of the river bed you will see a new Tarmac cycle way which goes all the way to Cuevas. Good luck!! Let me know if you need more info.
