Good morning to you all and I hope the sun is shinning on you even if the skies are cloudy .

General question if traveling from Santander down to Palomares I know I will need driving licence etc and my proof of Covid jabs but what else would I need , I.e do I need a driving permit from post office to drive in Spain . Cheers

Hi Bob I believe you only require a current license and probably your passport, you no longer need proof of COVID vaccine

Hi,

You should definitely carry, full driving licence, V5 vehicle reg’ doc’, proof of insurance for Euro travel, UK sticker on the rear, First Aid Kit, A reflective triangle for placement on the road incase of breakdown and a reflective jacket/waistcoat. Also a lot of patience if travelling on the Portsmouth-Santander Ferry. The trips great, but checking in and out is slow even out of season 😃 Nearly forgot headlight stickers 😀

Yes, all Alkazar said but i’d just check with your car insurer about the driving permit .We got one while brexsht was going through but since, we’ve been told we don’t need it.Spanish one only lasts a year anyway, about £5 French on lasts three years .  I always ask mine about the green card but don’t need that either. Just ask them anyway.   Best thing we ever took for the first time was European breakdown cover, a sensor went on our 13 plate Volvo xc70 as we drove off the ferry at Santander. The AA organised the grua to take the car to garage, taxi for us and our two tiny dogs to a Hotel in Burgos ! Eight days in Ciudad hotel as lorry drivers were on strike and the Volvo dealer couldn’t get the part , hire car too. So, we’ll worth it.
