Wanted: Apartment

Hi,

The new Murcia is 105km from Palomares according to Google Maps. Now Rob may be better able to offer advice but Murcia has always been difficult. Most people would use car hire but Exclusive Airport Shuttles are now meeting UK flights and running to Mojacar. If you contact them on their www they may suggest where best getting off.

Not sure of Mojacar/ Palomares buses but of course there are taxis.

Rob may pick up on this as he has a rental apt in Palomares.

almeria airport is the closest airport under an hr...the new Corvera airport will be closer than San Javier but still a good 2hr drive from Palomares..

I have an apartment in Palomares and I fly into Almeria. I book Exclusive Airport Shuttles from this end (England).  They took me all the way to my apartment. On the form it asks if you want a taxi at the other end of the shuttle service , I said yes and the shuttle kept going, to my door. Great.

You have been given fair advice so far. We live in Vera Playa (that’s near the sea) and. We fly to Almeria when we can. The bus to Palomaris if it goes to Palomaris from Almeria is slow. That’s bus from airport into town then bus to Mojacar Vera viaCarbonaras etc. Hire a car is a good alternative but you must return it to the same airport. Murcias new airport is further away but the bus/ coach service is very good value at less than 20 euro. We also fly to Alicante and get the bus to Vera Playa. I think you can easily transfer to Palomaris. The bus doesn’t always attend every flight so we take the regular bus and change at Murcia. The bus goes to Vera and from there a taxi cost about a tenner.

Hiring a car is good and driving is 2.1/2hrs from Alicante or 1.1/2 hrs from Murcia via the toll road which is very traffic free. Do check you map for the route.it is not obvious when you’re driving. There are signs but you need to know which ones to look for.

Good luck with your purchase... but look at Vera Playa as well!
