Hi all, looking to buy in the Albox area, big radius! How much does the temp at night and in winter vary from say Oria at 1000m to Zurgena at 200m? Want to be bit inland , not coast and not urbanisation, bit private but also close enough to a bar for social etc? Like the look of Oria but little concerned getting snowed in in winter😂😂😂 will be there as soon as can sort this virus😢 See you soon , Steve and helen

As you say Albox is a biggish area, temperatures can vary wildly,we even get snow near the coast, the trouble is the more 'rural' you go the more you limit your bar/life, choice and the more chance of a 'snap' storm keeping you isolated

It is strange to say that in 2020 taxis are still hard to get hold off and you do not want to risk the GC and drink driving.

Normally the Spanish are VERY good at keeping roads clear from snow as they pay local farmers a fee to clear stuff.

Best thing to do is look and find what you want and then live with it

further up you go colder it gets in the winter and at night.  in Arboleas just outside Albox we had electric blanket and pellet burner in the winter months which included March warming up by April.  We stayed with friends in Oria where it was positively freezing at night through the winter.  we now live on the coast in Mojacar and it is so much warmer but we still use electric blanket in winter months and air con heating is enough for warmth when needed.  We have only seen snow once in Arboleas in the 15 years we lived there.
