I am  a fairly recent widow moving to the Oria area. I have lived in Spain for 6 years but do not know anyone in Oria. Why I am moving here, well, that is a long story.

I'm reasonably outgoing and very friendly and I would like to get involved in activities and clubs that help me make friends. I particularly love dancing especially Latin, and enjoy walking and keep fit. I also play cards  especially cribbage.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. TIA

Hi, I lived in Oria for 5 years, moved back to UK 2 years ago. Oria is beautiful, but when I lived there there were very few 'activities', there are quite a few British living there so hopefully for you things have changed,There use to be a ladies group that meets for coffee. There is a lady on this forum called Ednab, that lives in Oria, perhaps do a PM to her, she might have some information for you.

My husband died here in Spain 10 years ago.  I have made close friends and although there is keep fit there are not many groups in Oria. Although there a plenty in albox and arboleas. We like to go out to lunch with shopping. I would love to meet up and help you meet other ladies and couples.  Once a month there is a ladies quiz night at the local bar.  There are quiet a few brits in Oria and a lot more in Orgarite.  Are you moving to Oria town or on the outskirts.  If you want to private message me for a chat you would be very welcome.

Hi There used to be a Latin dancing group that my husband and I went to but not sure if it's still going. I am very active and do Sevillana dancing in Los Cerricos and other types of dances like pasa doble in Spanish with Sole. We perform at the local fiestas in beautiful Spanish dresses. I believe there's a Sevillana group in Oria too, the town hall would have details. I also do line dancing in El Margen with John. I do zumba twice a week with Antonio in Spanish in Oria, and he and the town hall put on free outdoor activities in the summer. I went to the Aquafit at the fabulous big Oria pool through July and August. There's a keep fit group in Partaloa who meet twice a week with Amanda. There's a yoga group with Anna and a woman called Sharon who does Palates. There are free Spanish lessons at the adult school. There's a rambling group with Andres from the library, and an Oria Verde group who go planting trees locally. There are occasional arts and craft groups, there used to be one in Ogarite and another at the Shepherd's. There's the Hash who meet once a month on a Sunday morning at a bar (a different one each time) and you can choose between a 5km walk or an 8km run and chat along the way, then they have tapas and drinks.
