Hello, this is a perfect opportunity to introduce myself. I’m Jim and I’ve got a beautiful property in Campillo de Purchena along with my partner Jan and son Ralph. Because of Covid 19 we haven’t managed to get out to it since February but now the restrictions are easing we hope to travel out within the next few weeks. We would be flying in from Liverpool to Alicante and then driving from there. Could anybody tell me please what restrictions are still in place, what is open, especially with regard to supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, garden centres, beaches at Vera, Mojacar etc... are there still travel restrictions? What restrictions around Albox? We also tend to travel over to Tabernas every time we come out, any restrictions there?

I know this is a lot to ask but any info would be much appreciated.

Kind regards- Jim

Hi Jim/Jan and Ralph,

pretty much everything is open, social distancing is in place and if you can't keep distance such as on a busy street or supermarket then mask are to be worn.  As you are from the same family then masks not essential in your car but if had a non family member passenger then masks to be worn.  Less tables in cafes and bars so they can distance people and must have a mask with you so that you can approach the bar or use the toilets.  Small shops only allowing so many in at once, hand gel available.  Supermarkets such as Lidl, Mercadona, Dia and so on you are to wear masks and gloves (gloves provided at establishments).  No time restrictions on going out, beaches open but again social distancing from non family members but you can have groups of friends and visit friends houses now and able to cross from Andalucia into Murcia or Granada.  There are restrictions further up north in Catalunia.

Hope of some help and come and enjoy the sunshine  :)

Andy.

I think if I am not mistaken from Monday 13 July you have to wear masks at all times outside, it does not matter if there is other people about or not, you still have to have them on

I think you stated the issue, they had no masks with them.  That is current ruling that you should have masks with you at all times in public.  Had they had masks with them would have been fine most likely although they seem pretty strict Mojacar way.  I've passed police 3 times today not wearing my mask but was round my neck should I have needed it.

It’s now official.  In Andalucia, as of midnight Tuesday 13th, the wearing of masks at all times whilst outside irrespective of distance from others is obligatory.  Fines of between 100€ and 6000€ (Yes, that’s six THOUSAND) are set for non-compliance.   In his speech, Presidente de la Junta de Andalucia, Juanma Moreno said “Despite the heat, difficulties and limitations, we have to get used to wearing the mask permanently”

There are no mentions of any exclusions for being on the beach or cycling or whatever - his speech consisted basically of what I have outlined above and exclusions to the wearing of masks was not mentioned at all.

Clearly whilst eating at a restaurant or drinking etc is an exclusion, but once you get up from the table, even if only to go to the toilet, a mask will be required.

As it is Tuesday the 14TH today presume you meant that Dario but elsewhere it states midnight on Wednesday?   oh well just start wearing masks from now on but given the state of some of them they are not going to be much good!  some are broken, dirty not covering noses or made from dubious homemade materials.  and the wear only for 4 hour ones seem to be worn forever!!
