Just to make you aware, Bankia have stopped all my direct debits in June after two years, apparantly because they have bought out a non residency form that should have been signed. Bearing in mind they could have, emailed, text, phoned or posted me this form, they chose to stop all my direct debits instead, barring in mind there is a pandemic happening. Please be aware if you have a Bankia account and you are a non resident

That's not good service, like you say they could have contacted you before cancelling things.  Hope Cajamar don't do the same to me although I have told them I have residencia but they never acknowledged me.

No it has been a real worry, and I have spent all week trying to move my bills over, also with the town hall, they cannot use your English bank account for direct debits, so water and rubbish have to be paid, credit card and as an individual payment.

So anyone who us with Bankia and a non resident please check to see if your direct debits are still going out. Mine were all cancelled 19 th

Luckily I am resident and have internet banking with Cajamar so can keep close tabs on things wherever I am.  Good advice for those with Bankia or any bank really to check on their account movements.

The same thing happened to my sister. She contacted her solicitor/ accountant who do her non resident tax returns and they sorted it out for her. She was fuming as never owed anyone anything. She only found out when she got  an email from her internet provider saying the payment had been returned. When she checked this had also been the case with electric and a couple of others. She spoke to the bank and told them how bad she thought it was that they hadn't contacted her but as always it was like water off a ducks back. She hasn't been able to come this year with the situation as it is, but is determined to go in and close her account when she next comes over, but to be honest I don't think they'll give a t--s.

Hi, I’m actually e mailing the branch manager now, he says” they had the wrong e mail details for me” I’ve gone back saying they have my, phone number, postal address, plus my on line banking in box. My account has been blocked since June just been un blocked August. Basically if you are a non resident, do not bank with Bankia.

I will now have solicitors fees to pay as they have signed my non residency form, to give to bank,

I have been advised to move to cajamer or Unicaja By CATs services.

Yes totally embarrassed as because DD cancelled by them was worried no water or electric for my pool, and I would be disconnected.

Hope you get some satisfaction via the manager although they don't normally care.  Mention that when you are next over you will be calling in to fill out the complaints book, sometimes that wakes them up.
