Fortunately the Brittany Ferries agent could see that in fact the original vaccine was a three yearly one from its batch number even though the Andalusian vet had stated it needed to be repeated every year. I live in Almeria province and if you come from the uk with a 3 years rabies injection my vet will tell you that is alright until the next injection is due. I have a friend whose dog is still OK with the 3 year roadies from the uk. The injections I get for my dogs rabies is a 12month one and needs to be done close to the date when booster is needed otherwise you have to go through the full blood test again. I also get my dogs injected against lesh and this does not give you any leaway you have to get the booster on or before the required date.
