Hi guys

Needing advice plIs there something similar to a dunelm near Mojacar as we need soft furnishings. Also are there any large furniture shops for beds and sofas. Still trying to find our way around

Cheers Rob

Me and Mrs Jones have opened a store on the front in Mojacar opposite Mojacar home improvements and supply all kinds of bedding, otherwise you could try looking at el Cort Ingles.  For beds and furniture there are a few furniture stores on the trading estate at Antas just off the motorway, otherwise you could try try Ikea in Murcia but it really depends on what you want to pay and how far you are willing to travel.

Hi,

Have to second Me and Mrs Jones. Andy & Cheryl. On the Paseo. They do beds / bedding, etc and you can order from their catalogue. They are terrific people.

You may be appalled at some of the prices out here so if you are happy with excellent Second-hand then The Attic at El Cucador. Terrific choice & a really interesting browse.

Best Wishes,

Bob and Sandra

Mojacar Playa & Puerto Lumbreras.

Hi Rob

Welcome to Mojacar.  Sadly, I'm not there all year round to enjoy it, but when I bought my place a couple of years ago, I used a mix of sources for bedding, homewares and furniture, including:

Me and Mrs Jones (agree with all favourable comments elsewhere).

IKEA in Murcia (one trip for smaller items).  I then used a company called Furnish in Spain for bigger items - you choose what you want from the catalogue/your nearest UK IKEA and they will collect from Murcia, deliver and assemble.  I can't remember the cost, but it was reasonable.

Carrefour Hypermarket.  I went to the one at San Javier near the old Murcia airport, but I think there's one in Almeria.  There are also some shopping malls  near Almeria where there's a Zara Home and various other stores.  It's an easy detour if you're flying into Almeria and have a car.

Ferreteria Lopez (of course)  in Mojacar and Antas.  Despite some others' reservations, I love this shop and always find something I didn't know I needed.

And, as a compulsive browser/bargain-lover, street markets.   The bigger ones (e.g. Vera, Garrucha) usually have a few stalls selling kitchenware, curtains, bedding, towels, etc.  Also good later in the year for stocking up on fleecy pyjamas and thermal socks for the winter!  I'm also a big fan of the Chinese markets, of which there a few in Mojacar, selling all kinds of home and garden essentials.

Enjoy!
