Would anyone know a good vegetable market where I can find English Parseley or failing that Italian Parsley? I am in Vera, close to Garrucha and not too far from Mojacar. Thankyou
Don’t know if it’s “English “ parsley, but we have bought many herbs, plants etc from the Monday market in Huercal Overa. Onions, tomatoes, aubergine, courgette, runner beans, broccoli, mint, oregano, basil, etc.

Very interesting. At what times is this market open on Monday and since it is a small place , it sounds like it is easy to find, if you go at the right time.
Thankyou
Robert

It’s open from about 9 am, the stalls go on quite a way, it’s one of the biggest street markets. you need to look off the main drag, there’s a big car park. Lots of food stalls, it’s normally parked on the right on the far end. Make sure you know the Spanish words for what you want, she doesn’t speak English.
Hi Robert, and there’s me thinking parsley is parsley. Consum supermarket sell bunches of parsley about a foot long. I get this as I chop the stalks into some recipes, mercadona parsley is shredded so not much use. You’ve just missed garrucha market along the sea front but packing up soon. I get there 7.30 to 8 and all the fruit and veg stalls are set up and trading

Hi there,
The difference is this: The parsley we use in the UK is a shrivelled up leaf variety whereas in most other parts of Europe the parsley has a larger, flatter leaf. The smell is the same, however! Most shops that sell parsley (perejil) seeds will have the latter variety.
Flat leaf parsley -v- Curly Parsley
Probably flat leaf used more in the uk now
Mercadona’s is fine unless you want lots of stalk (which has its uses)

Hi, we went yesterday, very busy market. We bought tomato plants, courgette plants, potato plants, broccoli and asparagus. Too early for aubergines. To eat we bought squash, for soup, aubergine and peppers. Don’t need parsley as our garden has loads. Our beans and broccoli are doing well. One thing w can’t seem to be able to grow is citrus fruit! Luckily our neighbour can.
