I am going to buy the Orbegozo 95 gas room heater (or similar) which needs a gas cylinder.

I will want to buy 2 cylinders so as to avoid ever running out but I am not sure which brand to buy. I am in Mojacar Playa and presume Lopez Ferraterria will supply one brand and presumably the Repsol garage near Garrucha will have them as would the Cepsa garage.

Just wondered if anyone knew if there is much difference in the price of the various brands?

The Repsol is less expensive and the Propane less expensive than Butane.

So long as you have an empty bottle, any empty bottle, you can swap at a station But it's Cepsa butane for Cepsa butane and propane for propane. Repsol seem to more flexible and we seem able to swap any Repsol for any Repsol. Maybe we just have a wonderful chap in Puerto Lumbreras. We are just having Neater Heaters fitted and have a full new Repsol Butane if interested we are just up.from Lopez (hate it with a vengeance).

Gas guy who delivers Fridays in Urcal does Orange Repsol "bottles" under €15, the Cepsa garage we use near the bridge coming/going into Huercal Overa swaps the silver also butane cylinders for €16.99, got one tonite on the way home.

Try and get hold of a gas level indicator, it's a stick on thing that reads the level of gas left, we have a lounge gas fire that went out when there was seemingly still some gas in the cylinder because it still weighed some, I put it on the space heater this morning and the heater is still running, the Cepsa one we were using drained comepletely and though you'd think they'd weigh the same, the Cepsa cylinder was much lighter. Much the same weight full, Cepsa cylinder is on an inside heater, Repsol cylinder is used for an interior wall fire but kept outside.

Chain up your cylinders lol.

Hi - i have an Orbegozo gas heater (pic attached) . It came with the apartment and has an unattached gas bottle.

First question :  The gas bottle does not sit neatly/nestle in the back of the heater (there are groves for the bottle to sit in) , it seems too big. So,are all the bottles standard size ? If not what size do i need?

Second question: I read there is some gadget  measures the level of gas left in the bottle. Where can i buy one from ...Repsol ?

Hi, for whatever reason, all butano cylinders seem too big around the back of these porrable heaters, partners parents back in the UK had one, same thing, we have one, same thing but we have a cofer that clips on to stop the cylinder from falling out the back.

The gadget you speak about is a magnetic strip that measures heat, think you can get them from ebay if not any local ferreteria.
