Hi

Any help appreciated on this one. We recently bought a ground floor apartment.

We have received an email from the solicitor (post-purchase) forwarded from the water board about an inspection they carried out 16.03.2022.

It's in Spanish, so we've done our best. There are a lot of diagrams.

It would appear that we have 60 days to 'put right' the following:-

Discover pipe, install 3/4 bypass valve and anti-fraud valve

Install manhole cover on facade (40x30)

Replacement of asphalt/steel

PVDF pipe diam 25mm

Delivery of forms with construction details.

1. Is this common, has anyone experience of this?

2. Can you point us in the right direction of a plumber/engineer that can carry out such works?

3. We are not visiting until the 28th

Thank you so much in advance x

Ok, looks your left to clear up a bit of a mess that your solicitor should have known about.

Right - I can very much recommend Gary Knowles of Gary Knowles plumbing +34 606 807 797 - he’s English, but has been in Spain for a looooooooong time and knows his way around.  Even if he can’t do all the work, he’ll sure as hell be able to recommend a reliable person who can - but I believe he is set up to take on all the work you require.

Thank you for this information, we really appreciate your helpful reply.

We are contacting our solicitor (with fingers crossed) but if we are responsible then I will definitely get in touch with Gary.

There seems to be an action by water suppliers on changeover of ownership to update supply / meter, we got round it by keeping the supply in the original name but arranging payment from new account. No problem since

We brought a villa three years ago on a estate,And the Glaslas water made us install a new stop cock on the pavement in front of the existing meter and stop cock. They quoted a price but our solicitor found a plumber to do the work for half the amount. Their reason was we could be turned off without affecting anyone else.Plus if we did not do the work they would not put our names on the account. The same has happened to every new purchase on here since.Best of lu
