I’ve upgraded the pool heater.  Thought it would be simple to upgrade the potencia to suit.

I went to Endesa today (our supplier).  I’m not particularly interested in shopping around for a slightly cheaper deal at the moment.

I just need to get my potencia increased to about 15kW and fairly quickly.  I may get away with a bit less as the air con and the pool heater are likely to be used in exclusive seasons.

The woman at Endesa said I’d need an electrician to replace the machinery (I think she meant the meter at the house) to increase the potencia, and currently our maximum was 5.5kW

Does anyone have experience of this and know who could do it?  Any tips gratefully received.

Hi

Yes that's correct alas I do not know of an electrician in your area, suggest you try and Google it

Good luck Paul

If you are currently on 5.5kw and want to increase the potencia the supplier will need to be certain that the cables serving your fusebox/meter are big enough to take the increased potencia I believe this is why they are asking you to contact a registered electrician who will check this out  install bigger cables if required and then supply you with a bulletin (certificate) that you can show to the supplier
