Why not exchange your UK licence for a Spanish one now, and apply for a UK test in order to obtain a new UK licence. Can't see anything in the regs. that says you can't. At least the theory will be in English!

It would be handy if anyone knew Anyone 🙄 who knew how the DVLA works.  If I’m a citizen and have passed a driving test way way back lol. In 1982.  Surely, if I was moving “back”. I would just be issued with one ?  No ?

Sounds like a "plan" to me. Good luck, I think!

As far as I know if you have a uk driving licence and want to change for Spanish you would have to give up your uk licence  then at a later date if you moved back to uk you could apply for the uk licence back and then you would have to give up the Spanish lice you carnt have one for each country a also after brexit thing will change who knows what will happen

I really don’t mind having a go on a Spanish driving test or whatever but I feel It’s so Stupid as a system.   If millions of Brits a year can come to Spain and hire a car and drive.   And vice versa. I’m sure you all agree ,  What difference does a DATE make.  I really wish the World would use some common sense in Very many circumstances.  It’s not rocket science.  It’s a joke.    It’s just money making.  Having to buy an Inernational driving permit which I have BTW for The Netherlands and Spain, when we flew from Schiphol with our dog in our bag ,when we  came “Before” Brexit Last October   🙄. They don’t even last the same length of time Spain being the shortest,no surprise there then🙄.  If we had been stuck like this now we could not have driven through France to get back to U.K.  .  😏🤔.   I had no idea common sense was such a rarity, but seeing Boris’ relatives enjoying the sun in Bournemouth left me gobsmacked 😎.

The only thing is you have to have laws on what you can do and how long you stay in other country's, we are resident in Spain pay all our taxes in Spain and also have to complete a tax form to HMRC in the UK even when we don't pay any tax in UK,

But there is people living in Spain under the radar not paying taxes in Spain still resident in UK but never been back to uk for years still driving around in uk reg cars which cannot be taxed mot or insured,

I don't know how they sleep on a night

Back your subject if you able to take a driving test in Spain hope you pass I don't think for a minute I would be able to pass a driving test in Spain partly because of the language people say you can have it in English not sure about that especially when people say, you have to take a translator with you if you have to go to DVLT in Almeria

My Uruguayan architect sat it years ago. He said they take four at a time lol. So I’m not a good passenger haha.  They teach very aggressive driving now lol. We are so sedate as we passed in 1982 lol
