Just a quick question Iain, if you arrived by campervan why rent anywhere? surely the sensible option  would have been to go on to one of the many  camp sites thus saving yourself alot of money into the bargain.  And if you do decide to apply for residency you will have to matriculate the campervan also.

It’s not just Iain though. Darshillians thought there was a period of grace allowed before leaving Spain, because of the pandemic State of Alarm. No evidence of that as far as I am aware. There was only leeway for paying some bills like car tax.

The State of Alarm ended on 21 June. As far as I know that does not mean that any 90 days period of tourist stay starts from then.

If you arrived before 13 March when Lockdown began but were unable to leave until 21 June then it would have been expected that you leave without further delay once the State of Alarm ended. ...

There were rescue flights organised to the U.K. throughout the lockdown and the land borders remained open too. Many drove back to the UK through France, many took the rescue flights organised by the British Embassy.

I agree we took advice at the end of may when we had spent 94 days in Spain and with documentation to support the need for our return we drove home!!! I think Iain is being a little bit economical with the truth only now asking if his actions have been and are illegal.
