Extended stay - exceptional circumstances (ill mother)

My mother is a Spanish resident / UK citizen who is ill with cancer. I've been looking after her but my 90/180 days is about to run out.

I've seen that I can apply for an extended stay at a police station with the appropriate forms, identification and proof of medical insurance and wondered if anyone had done this successfully and if there is anything I need to consider before applying?

you have to provide proof of money to cover your extended stay as well.

if you google stay over 90 days it gives you the full information ref forms and fees and also says you must have proof of your ticket to go home at the end of the extention period.  You need to get translations of documents in english to spanish so will need to do a soon as possible.  Have you asked MACs for any assistance with your mother?   Good luck.

Thanks for the response. The requirements are clear, I was hoping that someone on the forum might have gone through the process and could shed some light on doing it in practice. Some follow up questions would be did they manage to do it at a police station and without a solicitor.
