Is aw this  headline morning in one of the Spanish newspapers A sentence forces the IP and the name and ID of whoever watches football for pirate apps

Yes its a link, which someone has pointed out that they have a pain in their arse reading when I post links to the full article when I add links in my posts so below is also a bad translation of the article. I have also added one article below if your interested.

Historic ruling against football piracy in Spain. According to the newspaper Marca, Barcelona's Commercial Court No. 8 has given the green light through one of its orders to take legal action directly against users who consume football illegally.

The League and television platforms have been fighting piracy for years and now have a new tool that can be much more effective. Until now you could only take half cons the mafias that were behind it through links on websites or through decoders that users used to watch the games illegally.

Now, however, consumers who see it from home will be able to be punished. This order obliges operators to inform LaLiga of whom they connect to pirate servers: IP address assigned to the user, first name and surname of the holder who hired the Internet access service, postal address of the installation of the line and of billing and identification document (DNI, NIE).

Operators who are obliged to provide this information are Vodafone, Orange, MásMovil, Digi and Telefónica. As soon as operators start sending user data, something that is expected to happen in the next few days, complaints that have been viewed illegally will begin to reach.

In Spain, Javier Tebas reported last September, several million illegal downloads of the parties in the first days of LaLiga.

So I am not advocating that you should use the  streaming services and as pointed out the subscriptions to the legal options are prohibitively expensive this post is just an FYI

Also for your information  How safe is torrenting in Spain? A complete guide

The article is about using torrent sites if your do not know the term is a brief explanation:

its basically used  to transfer data between each other without the need for a central server. In other words, they use a decentralized server in which every torrent participant is actively involved in downloading and uploading files. These torrent sources have a range of IP protected material i.e. games, movies, software, TV shows etc.. that people can access and download for free illegally thus the use of a VPN.

The technology is the same for monitoring TV streaming services so that's how ISP's are tracking you and can now do so legally

Use a VPN - it encrypts the connection between your computer and the exit point server which can be anywhere in the world.  Your ISP cannot see what IP you are connecting to as your traffic is going through an encrypted “tunnel”

Coming to Los Gallardos in December for 10 weeks.
Am I able to use an English SIM card to get Wi-Fi or do I have to sign up to a Spanish one. If it’s the latter, any suggestions please.

Thanks

Phil

Sorry do not know how it would work with an English SIM. I am not English and know nothing about the billing or roaming charges work.

You can get Weefee off of a phone by hot spotting  but then there are a raft of questions you will need to answer.

However there are loads of suggestions around this forum that may help.

You can if your UK service provider has a roaming agreement with one of the Spanish providers.  Best thing to do will be to contact your service provider and ask if they have roaming partners in Spain, and who they are
