Prime Minister of Rep of Ireland has decreed:-

1. All schools, universities, child-care facilities must close from tomorrow Friday 13th March until 29th March, at least.

2. People must work from home where possible.

3. All sporting events including main sports to cease until 29th March.

4. No event may have more than 500 people attending in outdoor places.

5. No event indoors may have more than 100 people in attendance.

6. Scotland has followed suit.

For some reason unknown to anybody Mr Johnson is allowing England's universities, schools etc remain open.

For whatever reason Mr Johnson appears to be delaying the inevitable. How many deaths does it take for Mr Johnson to act responsibly?

Johnson was part of the government for the last 9 years and they didnt care how many deaths austerity caused, so why would you think he would care now.

The initial panic-like situation in Ireland appears to have ceased. Our supermarkets are becoming quieter and nobody is now stealing hand cleanser fluid using plastic bottles from public dispensing machines. The run on toilet paper has abated and I think everybody has ample supply of baked beans up to the end of the century. (Perhaps all that toilet paper won't go to waste!) I think we have got over the situation of somebody sneezing on public transport. In church we have got over the exchange of sign of peace process.

Northern Ireland comes under Boris Johnson's watch. Its schools/universities remain open, its sporting life can continue. So it is with England and Wales (Scotland is running with ROI concerns). However, I understand the football authorities in the England may break with Mr Johnson's thinking.

Mr Johnson is awaiting advice from scientists and the medical profession before his next move. Fiddling while Rome burns comes to mind.  In the meantime more people are becoming infected with the Covid-19 virus and the deaths are increasing. He remains sitting on his hands. Somebody should inform Boris Johnson to:- Let's get the Covid-19 virus threat done.

Why does someone believe thaat decisions made are the sole responsibility of one person. Expert advice was taken by the cobra committee before Boris pronounced the outcome of a collective decision. Some people need to access the situation rather than spouting personal dislike for an elected politition.

Very well said  James (jtp890), I would imagine that the PM has had talks with the UK Health Authorities and that there was a collective decision made based on the information garnered from the professionals.

Not at all James.  There are far too many who would make assumptions without having the facts to hand.

I regret to say that Mr Johnson appears short of the mark. I don't say this lightly as most of europe is stepping up to the mark and taking steps to slow the virus attacks. The Covid-19 cases in England/Wales are rising by the hour. But, Mr Johnson has his followers who'll believe anything he comes up with. There cannot be much difference between his expert advisors in the UK and the advisors of every other country in europe. Or is Boris just being Boris and once again going against the grain? Keep it up Boris, did anybody advise you that people are dying of the virus? How many funerals does it take?

Hi James, You're entitled to your opinion and long may you be allowed to express it. I don't agree with you, but once again I say you're entitled to post your opinions.

Thanks for your comment, however you really do need to check your facts. Different areas of Europe have multiple variations, John sons statement when given was presented with chief medical officers flanking each shoulder. And you think this is his doing. To bring politics in to such a serious situation, is foolhardy
