Hi,

Yeh that was a general thought, Brexit is all BS anyhows and we will all continue to live, work and pay our taxes 😂

Many thanks for the replies guys, all of them! They are very helpful 👍

We did look at OZ - WA just after our boy was born and took two trips down there to have a good look around. The first trip was all highs and possibilities, the second trip was the reality and the realisation! It was worth the time and money spent as it stopped us making a big mistake.

We came home, bought a new house and settled again to watch the boy grow.

We love where we live, we have a nice home which I’m reducing the debt on hugely each year. My wife doesn’t have to work and the little one has private schooling (which I know, doesn’t mean as much nowadays, but being bought up on a council estate with nothing means if I can I will)

I work for myself and earn a good wage doing what I’m doing. A lot more than I would ever earn for someone else here or in Spain.

But, I have a long term health issue which after 3 operations in the last 18 months has bought me to the realisation that old, old age is probably not an option now. So, now if anything happens to me in the short term. My family will have a roof over their head and food on the table when I’m gone.

So, last year I got my first big motorbike again for a few years 😂 I have a much more relaxed attitude to how things are going.

We are in no rush, I get Spain is not utopia and understand the pitfalls.....my wife will have to get a job again 💰 I will not be my own boss anymore (hurrah) and I will earn peanuts but, will be enjoying life more hopefully!

Regards

Calvin

Best of Luck, Calvin. Sorry to hear of your ill health. I hope things work out favourably on all fronts for you.

Don’t worry!

It’s ok, I can still work, function and watch my boy grow !

I’ve had issues with continuous dvt’s Since my early 30’s which they have never really got to grips with......it has now escalated to blocking my arteries and reducing the blood flows somewhat. But, living in Lincoln and being so close to QMC in Nottingham. They have the best team of vascular surgeons there is. (First name terms and all that) That, and paying for some scans to be  completed privately saves a lot of time which is the main issue with these things.

We all have ailments! And there are kids with cancer. Now that’s hard.

Ultimately, my sexy legs are no more 😂😂😂😂

But, all good 👍

I would expect that you would have to have the equivalent Spanish AC and Refrigeration qualifications before being allowed to carry out work ?

Depends - many UK qualifications are recognized here, but would be wise to check if there’s a need to get an equivalence or permit relating to electrical work

My view is a pool is a must. You can then buy pool covers summer and winter and whilst they cost a bit they save on a huge amount of maintaining them especially in the winter.

I'd think before you buy in Torre Pacheco.  The sea near to that part of Murcia coastline is none too clean so there I'd opt for a pool and you could get a lot for your money.  The prettiest part of Murcia province is  Moratalla but it's quite far inland.

My advice would be not to be talked into buying anything by an agent if you are coming on what used to be called an inspection flight organized by a specific agency.   Lots of Brits and their supermarkets, bars etc in and around Torrepacheco, but it's not to my taste.   Each to his own as they say!
