it is quieter during the winter months. during Covid of course some bars and restaurants have suffered badly and some have closed for good. But others have had full make overs with new furniture so they are obviously optomistic for their future. This evening they can stay open until 10.30pm which will give them a chance to make some money but obviously there are no tourists here so it will depend on the locals.

Thanks for reply, lets hope things get back to normal a.s.a.p
We've not been in Mojacar/Turre area during the summer months so cant comment but thats not the question. We have spent 3 to 4 winter months here for the past 15 years and during that time its been the very rare occasion where the wearing of shorts wasn't the order of the day. We always hope we have no more than 6 to 8 wet days and are rarely disappointed, one year having no rain at all. There are always plenty of bars and restaurants open or if you prefer the great outdoors you can walk the marked trails in the hills for some mouth watering views. So to answer your question, 'yes there's plenty to keep you occupied and no the area doesn't close down'.

Although pre Covid the summer months were always holiday time but the autumn/winter months in Mojacar Playa are also sacrosanct to us. Summer is great, eating and drinking and meeting visitors in bars/beah/restaurants, but later in the year we'd relax more. Learn more Spanish, read more books, watch more television, walk more in the countryside etc. I think everybody becomes a little different in the off season. It's a kind of an awake hibernation.
I wish this Covid epidemic was over . . . . . . whatever time of year it happens we'll be on the first flight to Spain even if we have to push the plane to have it jump-started.

It may be so, down by the coast it is a little warmer, but if you buy inland it can be a little cooler, we live 40 minuets from the coast, and you would not see me wearing shorts all the year round, back in the uk in the north of England you will see the odd one with shorts on clearing snow ( you would not find me with shorts on in January in the uk ) like in Spain you will see people when it's 7 and 8 centigrade still in shorts and sandals no socks you will see the Spanish looking in dismay at them, like I say ( it takes all sorts)
