We have a holiday home on a golf resort in Benahavis which we love but if we want to spend a few months at a time its not really suitable for us to go with our two dogs although they are allowed. Ideally we would prefer a villa with its own swimming pool but cannot afford in Benahavis. Where would you recommend we look around Mojacar? I like the old finca style with a modern twist and Andrew would prefer a villa within walking distance to the resort.

Kind regards

Alison

villas in Mojacar are not cheap either especially in walking distance of the playa.  you might get a village house but no swimming pool best to decide what you want to pay and then look on the internet to see what's available.  villas are cheaper in the country areas like Albox or Arboleas but beware the illegal ones.

Thank you Alicia, I’ve looked on line at the different areas and can see villas which are more affordable compared to where our holiday home is now. I think if we decided to live in spain permanently I would prefer to be closer to the sea with outside space . Which areas would you recommend to be within 20mins walking to sea etc and residential so when it gets really busy you can escape . Selling up in the UK would enable us to buy something which would be more like a home than a holiday home. Kind regards Alison

Hi  . Google Kyero Mojacar. For 400K you'll find a villa walking distance to the sea with a pool. For a bit more a nicer one. If you stick to Mojacar Playa pretty much everything is walkable to the sea. Avoid the pueblo or La Parata - lovely but a fair walk to the beach! There's also Garrucha. There are some really lovely detached houses there but over 500K.

we live in the area over looking the golf course in Mojacar but villas here are way over 500k we have a 3 bed top floor flat and it is very quiet and a 10 minute walk down to the sea but a hike up a hill back.  lots of dogs in our area especially in the summer months when the holiday residents arrive but we have some permanent ones with dogs.   we can walk to Garrucha and to Mojacar easily within half an hour as well.   La Mata is an area you might find a townhouse not with a pool though.

Thank you for your message, I was thinking of the player looking around the 500k mark. I think we will come over in April and stay there. Does anyone know of a nice place we can rent for a week so we can explore?

Thank you again Alicia we are hoping to explore in April. Andrew plays golf so I’m sure we will visit the golf resorts too. We are looking around the 500 to 600k mark for a nice place. It’s such a big decision and don’t want to make a mistake if we are planning on living there.

Hi. Why don't you take on a long term rental before you buy just to be sure.

Yes I was thinking that too. It’s a good idea.
