Hi all thank you for accepting on your informative sight. My hubby and I are staying in Mojacar for 6wks during June and July. We are hoping to meet up with some expats to get some insight into life in Spain. We are primarily looking to buy around Mojacar, Garrucha, Vera or Palomares area. Intending to spend time in each area to get an idea of where our forever home will be.

Hubby is just retired and I am 52 and retiring too any help or support will be great fully received.

Thanks Heather and Steve.

You'll find Mojacar and the Playa in July is absolutely heaving! Mojacar Playa is going to be more expensive than slightly inland towns and villages. We have a holiday home in Los Gallardos, 15 minutes from Mojacar Playa and you get a lot more for your money. Los Gallardos is a nice village with bars and restaurants, a good pharmacy, a weekly market and good mix of locals and expats. It's close to Turre which is also worth investigating. We also have a property we rent out in Palomares. Some people don't like Palomares but we think it's great with a lively centre, shops, market, good restaurants and close to the beach, Aqua Vera water park and the other attractions of Vera Playa and Villaricos. We only tend go to Garrucha for Lidl and the karting centre but it's lively with good restaurants and shops. It's not somewhere I'd want to live though.

It's good that you're seeing towns all along the coast as they have their quirks and differences. Hopefully you'll find a good agent and some properties you'll really like. Enjoy your trip and best of luck with the search.
