you may find that not many people go out at the moment with the wearing of face masks, smoking ban, social distancing rules it's easier to stay home.  and mid week is quiet anyway.  Friday and Sat you would find people at the Ankara bar near Best hotel on the Playa near the Red Cross as they usually have live music but that may be banned at the moment as well!   also not many English tourist here at the moment with the quarantine in place on return to UK.

Smoking anywhere in public was banned throughout Spain on Monday of this week (unless you can social distance by 2M)

glad you enjoyed The Ankara bar music it's usually packed especially if Aldente are playing good rock band.  for food try the levant bar in the same run as the irish bar they do a good pizza or paella.  or for a fishy meal come along to the Parque commercial area and go to Neptuno on the sea front just past the front roundabout.

Hi I also visited the Dolce Vita bar last night to see an excellent ska band. Is it normal to have to book every time at these places as when I arrived I was told every table was booked but at least twenty five percent were empty all night.

The empty tables are probably to provide social distancing
