Travel and health insurance

Although I haven't used them so don't know how good they (we are with Insure & Go as our trips are shorter) Navigator do longer trip insurance that would cover the time you are in Spain. The website is at https://www.navigatortravel.co.uk/

For 3 month stays, we use Asda money, underwritten by Liverpool Victoria Assurance.  Their European Policy costs £134pa and after extensive research, it was the best we could find.

But they are specifically looking for a policy for 3 to 7 months.

The Asda policy covers up to 180 days of European driving per annum, which is not the full 7 months but it doesn't fall far short of the 3 to 7 months requirement.  If anyone knows of another longer stay policy, at a reasonable cost, please post.  Many thanks.

Thanks for all the suggestions and responses to my query re Insurance etc.

The search continues and I will post outcome in a few days. I am waiting for my broker to provide quotes as I find I also have to upgrade my car insurance for over 90 day period abroad. Also AA does not cover without additional quite hefty premium. The search goes on. 

Anyone have suggestions for car insurance and breakdown cover.

If you intend to spend more time in Spain than in the UK, you might consider flipping your coverage and insure for the Continent and have the UK be your 'travel destination.'

There are multiple insurance companies that offer continental cover full-time, and would then give you 180 days in the UK. Breakdown is often included as standard....

We've been happy with Ibex but there are a number of others, I'm sure folks here on the forum could make suggestions.

My current insurers are quoting exorbitant insurance prices for 180 days, so your suggestion sounds a great idea.
