That's good news at least Matthew

How are things on the Emerald Isle at the moment?
I had intended giving an update today and I've just met some of my swimming friends down at the beach and over a flask of decent tea we discussed the current Covid situation in Ireland and the news is good.
1. St-Patrick's Day (17th March) and Easter Week (last week) it was expected that our infection numbers would rise dramatically having "plateaued" (I hate the word - Americanism; something some of the braindead contributing here would use) for several weeks. But, I am pleased to say the numbers are dropping slightly, but dropping nonetheless.
2. Our Travel Agents are still closed, but all have big posters in their windows with the message something like "We'll be Holidaying Abroad in Summer 2021." Now, if there is anybody more eager for money than estate agents its the travel agents. I'm glad there is some positive positivity about.
3. The Vaccination process is steaming ahead. Only 20% of the vaccinations are of the Astraveneca injection (serves them bloody right). Johnson&Johnson vaccine coming on stream within a few days. Sod Astra-bloody-veneca now! - although I wouldn't refuse it if offered.
4. Some Irish people have jumped the queue and this is causing some concern that there may be some delay in the Mass Roll-Out ploy/programme/technique. I'm glad to say (perhaps it's Aintree Week and it's Friday) that things are looking up. But, there is nothing official yet on travelling to other countries this summer - but I'm praying, I kid you not! And for a change I am upbeat.
Just waiting to buy new Budgie Smugglers.

The Irish government met again last night and from news reports today it's odds on that France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, USA, Canada will be added to the Red List late next week i.e. people coming into Ireland from Red List countries will have to pay for hotel quarantine (14 nights) in advance of arriving.

Can anybody offer a positive case that foreign tourism will be restored in summer 2021 in Costa Almeria?

I fear not Matthew, staycation will be the norm again this year I believe. There are still far too many Covid cases throughout Europe sadly.
The reasons that suggested I ask if anything positive was on was influenced by:-
1. Irish travel agents openly advertising that summer holidays abroad are going to happen this summer.
2. Aer Lingus is plugging Spain like its arms were opening in friendship and this summer. Aer Lingus doesn't usually plug any destination without being pretty sure that it will be available.
I agree with Andymac that I don't believe we'll have summer in Mojacar this year. But, I'm hoping for October/November,

the only summer you will get is by fools breaking rules, winter as I said before is a good possibility
