Never used Mojacar as went for quotes & 50% more than the Optician we use in.Huercal Overa. Salas Opticus on main street. Maria & Loli both speak English.

My husband bought new glasses from one of the opticians on Mojacar Playa, varifocals, titanium frames etc. a few years ago and they were around 500 euros. Like Dr Bob this time we went to Maria at Salas Opticas and she was excellent very similar glasses varifocals, titanium frames etc 350 euros. I normally wear contact lens and just use my glasses at night to rest my eyes. My prescription is very strong and I detest my glasses. The last pair I bought in the UK a good few years back were £400 with supposedly thin lenses. This time Maria suggested a special tinted coating that disguises the thickness of the lens. They had to be sent away to be done and cost an extra 100 euros but for the first time in my life I have a pair of glasses that I'm happy to wear and the cost was 400 euros a similar price to what I paid about 10 years ago and this time I'm wearing them!!!

I have just used http://www.zenni.com - upload your prescription and buy online.  Why?  Well, opticians here would like to relieve me of 460,00€ for frames and varifocal lenses .... through Zenni, the same prescription, frames and lenses cost me 62,00€ (INCLUDING postage) .... guess where I’ll be going in future .....

Saludos, Darío
