Just wondering

Hello,

I am wondering which would be the area to buy a small property apartment or flat, I do not want somewhere that is too noisy but also with some activity to be had. Hoping to spend at least 6 months not in peak season.

Are there any areas which you would not want to recommend.

Having looked on Trip advisor although this was 2010 post it said there was some anti ex pat feelings around. Is this the case I am wondering.

I haven't experienced any anti immigrant feelings in Mojacar but in the more rural areas it's sometimes possible to detect some resentment especially of people who don't learn Spanish. My personal experience has been though that the Spanish are warm, friendly and generous people albeit a little quirky!

Some parts of Mojacar Playa are definitely noisy in peak season but it's pretty obvious where those areas are when you visit. We have a place in Ventanicas about 300m from the beach which is blissfully peaceful but still close to everything. I think there will be lots of places like that the whole length of Mojacar.If you want views and don't mind hills look at Ventanicas or Cueva del Lobo. If you prefer to be on the relative flat look at the Parador area north.

We live in a Spanish village. Very welcoming and friendly here. A few words of Spanish do help. Almost everyone says hello when they see you. Very safe and peaceful here.

there was for a while a 'blip' in anti foreigner especially English mostly with grafitti and mainly by the youth,I in fact had a right raging row in Antas with 2 young Spaniards that said we Brits were pricing them out of the housing/land ladder,I pointed out to them that is was their parents/grand parents that were raising the prices and that we dumb Brits paid them
