Any advice on cleaning the walls of my house?  Damned sand leaving stripes everywhere.  I suspect the Karcher will take the paint off too

It’s quite difficult. I’ve played with the settings on my jet washer, to ensure the rendering and paintwork isn’t destroyed. Very time consuming. Paving stones around the pool have come up good. Walls will need repainting after I’ve done what I can.

NB if you’ve had new rendering or paintwork done within last 6 months I wouldn’t use a power washer.

Having lived in Egypt for many years, this is a problem I am use to, if it is a one off Sand Storm, which I hope this was, then do not touch it until July/August when the weather is very hot and the sand very dry, it then should brush off quite easily. If you try and wash it off you will make it worse, it will just spread and stick even more. so be patience.

In Egypt we had sand storms quite often and had to have the house repainted and repaired every year, because eventually the sand damages the render.  Hopefully in Spain it was a one off never to be seen again.

Thanks both. I’ve already had a go with the jet wash!
