Sadly she’s one of bojo the clowns most ardent acolytes, she even switched from being a remain voter in order to serve her master, so I doubt she’ll do much for the uk let alone the British community in Spain.  I’m hoping she’ll prove me wrong.

I'm glad this topic is taking off without some of the numpty posters contributing their usual numpty posts. It is a serious subject. I am inclined to hold off on criticism of Liz Truss for a while. I think she will be good for the UK and the UK expat. I don't believe she can be any worse than her predecessor who lied blatantly on many subjects (especially Brexit). Without sounding sexist, I think the time is right for a female Prime Minister in the UK and I wish her well (although when I lived in the UK I was a Labour supporter).

I don't know too much about Liz Truss, but I believe she is of Yorkshire and sincere and I don't criticise her for changing her mind on Brexit (although I'm an ardent enemy of Brexit). We are all entitled to change our mind e.g. some of the most vociferous Brexiteers known to me now believe they voted against their current beliefs.

I put her not giving a handshake to her opponent when promoted down to excitement and I don't believe anything untoward was meant by her.

Personally she is uninspiring and the usual ‘Tory grey’. Lots to sort out with Northern Ireland & Brexit, I just don’t get the feeling she has the guts to stand up to the unionists. I hope I’m wrong as they need to be put in their place.

As it stand all I can hope for is that a stable government settles the EU and I get more euro in my pension. It’s just as well I’m easily pleased.

Very unlikely a Conservative PM would give a thought about the hardships of ex pats because in their eyes we are spending our hard earned money and paying taxes outside the UK.

Even though most of us having been paying into the UK coffers for over 40 years.

But we all live in hope.

From newspapers earlier I get the impression that Liz Truss is a hardliner for reality rather than for plastic nationalism. Her overall percentage win was less than she expected. Late voters for some reason turned against her. Unintended sexism coming again from me. but I believe lots of Tory women voted for Sunak. I can't give a reason and I put the late vote down to Women -V- Women. Jack's advice above is worth noting along with that of Partaloa even at this early stage. I believe Liz Truss is here for the long term as leader of the Tories.

I wonder will some intelligent women join this discussion? - I hope they do.

I’ll put my hand up here and admit that I am not too concerned with what she may or may not do for the British citizens living here in Spain. On the world stage it will be more of the same, I think.

Unless she has England re-join the EU there is not much she can do.

I am more interested in how she will handle the Northern Ireland Protocol negations more than likely make a hames of it like BoJo. I imagine.

What do you as an Irish citzen have to say about that Matthew?
