It's a lovely place but does get busy in the summer ,good all year weather , plenty to do many groups especially for ladies , very save . It's on the coast so so very close to beach never more than about 10 minutes walk away if you live on the player , if you in the old village it's a bus ride or 10 minutes in the car , plenty of expats you can get by speaking English but some Spanish is always helpful , plenty of places were you can learn , not much work

JulesJames12,
Another option is try a bit further up the restaurants coast. There is Gurrucha, not geared up as a tourist town but restaurants and a decent beach. Quite a small place.
Then there is Vera and the coastal areas of it (Pueblo Laguna or Las Bourganvillas). Again smaller and quieter but with a fair bit to do. Nice beaches etc. Easy to get into Mojacar by bus.
Probably worthwhile staying in a hotel for a week, look around the area and use the local bus to visit places. In summer it apparently does get well busy. I'm told brisk in July and manic in August.
Good luck. Martin.

Lots of motorhomes parked up along the beach front. Some regulations governing this during summer months, where they go I've no idea.

Try looking here, at Valle del Este. Quite a few expats here, busy in June / July / August, but not manic. 7 km from both Vera and Garrucha, 2 mins drive from 529 on / off ramp of the E15.
A Centro Comercial with an English Sports Bar, fabulous restaurant next door and a Thai restaurant as well. Very small “basic needs” Coviran supermarket, a supplier for English TV etc, Hola Fibra internet office and Sol cats car rental office.
Plenty of places available in a wide range of prices; the hotel also has a fabulous Spa you can book into. Been here 2.5 years, love it. For 9 months of the year we almost have our Urbanización to ourselves :-D
