Well the new Labour Gov have not cancelled the wonderful £10 Christmas bonus for us pensioners. Just got €11.95 each so as usual will donate it to charity. Surprised that they didn't see that as an easy way to save money for that black hole they keep on about! For those that need it thank fully you are still getting it for the moment.

As stated in the original post, it’s a pensioner bonus, for Christmas.

This is the sort of thing that should be stopped, if you leave your country that many can't afford to then you shouldn't be entitled to it.

Why should it be stopped? It's a bonus part of your pension. The uk government saying thank you for being such a good pensioner buy yourself 5 bottles of San Mig. Now the WFA I can understand as it doesn't get cold enough in Spain to need it. Besides the poor MPs need it instead for their second homes.

So you work for many many years.............paying your tax, then you get your pension.............and yes we have chosen to live abroad, so having paid into the system............with your reitrement in mind, why shouldn't you get a £10 bonus at Christmas?

I was give a bonus once at work. I worked for a large national company and every employee was given it as a thank you. It was Mars Bar. I did eat it but could have made a number of suggestions of where to shove it. The company made millions of pounds in profits each year.
Whilst the £10 bonus seems very little, it will buy a meal at Christmas and will certainly buy more coffees and drinks in Spain than the UK.
so I nearly had to pay it out to get a signature on the confirm you are alive form from the UK Gov when I realised that the Bank could do it for nothing, unlike our solicitor who charged my Husband €10 for his, plus the postaqe costs on top so that has absorbed it all. Still given equivilent to charity though as it's good will to all time!
