My wife and I will be moving from Arboleas to the Macenas Beach Golf Resort in 2 weeks time, would any one know if there is a committee there that we can communicate with concerning privacy walls being built at the rear of the property?

Also is there a community internet supplier that any one can recommend - where do Correos deliver to?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Mark & Karen

The agent you are either buying off or renting throught should be able to provide details of the management Co who in turn should advice on your questions.

As I understand it the golf has been dropped as the course is closed so it's now just macenas beach, and different parts of the development have different fees to pay. However, all pay for the security.

Good luck

Is the site legal now.?or has it been granted full services with the Junta ? We understood that it was stopped but evidently it's open again.

Houses are being advertised for sale with a number of agents so presume legality is not an issue.

One sector we looked at had no community fee's to pay as there's no community set up. However, everyone has to pay for the security which is around 1300 Euro's a year, I think....

It says under one of the places for sale that it is 1k a year for security.

You can never presume, just ask any solicitor, for them, to confirm to you on ther own headed paper "that all the properties are now legal, not just legalised" very important

Yes of course, however, for expressing tentative interest you can go on a working assumption.

Even if you paid the deposit you'd get it back if the homes were not legal.

TBH I think the development has very barren areas and no real facilities - it's not for me which is a shame as the original plans were great

Add to this the fact that you pay a significant amount for ''security'' which is essentially a man on a barrier gate unless there are patrols be even then....

You probably could get your deposit back, some people we knew received their deposit back after 4 yrs of hastle and worry with solicitors,

Here's a short process map Dee, hope it helps....

1. Find somewhere you want to buy

2. Pay a holding deposit

3. Property checks out, in this case legal or not would be childs play to establish

a) Yes - Proceed to purchase

b) No - deposit returned

I can't begin to fathom out how it took 4 years to have a deposit returned but It would be one of two things:

One the issue was grey and not easily resolved, or

Two the Sols were ''bad'' ones of which there are plenty here - worth mentioning choose your Sol carefully don't plump for the one recommended by the agents always

I'd take a punt on the latter as the former would be unreal

Adios - I'm saying no more on this one
