Living in Mojacar

Hi I can say you need to keep your eyes and ears open all the time if you are buying a property over here it's not what you think it is there is a lot of taxes on top of properties when you buy and then more. You will need a good solicitor and  good estate agent put please look into it properly there is a lot of things you probably won't know .but when you get passed the paperwork it's ok keep asking people. That is my view .   

Looking to rent long term in mojacar...a year if possible....would like to stay at the end where the “Irish pub” is....around that area...does anyone know of any property...Thanks

We recommended friends to post on the various local Facebook forums..There are 3 for Mojacar alone. Also ones for Vera. Etc.

They found a brilliant place within 2 weeks which their parents, who live in Los Gallardos were able to inspect.

Hi Julie,

Difficult to quantify as so much depends on your preferred lifestyle. Whether you are social butterflies, how often you wish to eat out, entertain, travel etc.

My wife & I have 2 properties here as well as a motorhome & 4x4 & live quite comfortably although we are not pub & cafe people. You do need to be selective out here.

Hi Bob and Sandra....I am a retired lady and looking for a least a 2 bedroom place as my family will visit for 2 or 3 weeks during the year.  I do like to eat out and would prefer to rent long term at Irish Rover end of the playa. If you do here of a nice place please let me know.  I would be hoping to rent for a year....

Hi again, we really aren't terrible sociable and shortly.leave for 3'months in Croatia followed by 6 months plus.in.S. America with Australian friends. Did I mention that we advertised on.the local Facebook forums for Andy & Cheryl and they found a place within weeks. It really is super but their parents live locally & were able to visit & view.

Would that be a good idea do you think?

the cost of living has risen over the past couple of years but on the whole is cheaper than the UK,obviously dependant on lifestyle
