How do you apply for a blue badge when you become a resident in Spain if you already have one in the UK

If you already have a UK one you may be able to exchange it, you can at  present certainly use it.  However if like me you need to start from scratch it's not easy.  You have to get forms  to fill in (you can download them) they are in Spanish of course, then after filling them in you need to go to the social services (some health centres have an office) or you can get an address and send direct to Almeria.  You will need a translator for all this.  I sent mine in last September and have been told that you can wait up to 6 months for an appointment to go to Almeria to be assessed (oh.  And you have to have a letter from your doctor or a specialist supporting your application!!). Once you get assessed you then have to wait for their verdict!   I've been told it can take up to 2 years to finalise!!!! I'm 80 now so may not get an appointment before I pop my clogs! Sorry to be so dismal, but others might have more positive remarks.  If so I will be glad to read them also.  Good luck.

Hiya

Don't forget that as from Friday we are no longer EU citizens so using and replacing blue badge may not be so straightforward, nobody seems to have any idea what is going on, even the government!!
