Oleander are one of many poisonous plants but as long as people wear gloves and do not eat any part of the plant they are not a problem. Many of the beautiful plants in the tropics are very poisonous but their foliage and flowers are very beautiful. The main precaution is to protect one's skin when dealing with them by wearing long sleeves and gloves to avoid skin irritation.

They are toxic to dogs and cats. It can cause sudden death if eaten

Can cause a lot of symptoms ultimately causing death if not treated by a veterinarian. Sudden death is highly unlikely unless Fido chomps down on a whole bunch. It would be a pretty stupid dog to do that. I do love an over reaction

Well they do say that dogs often are a reflection of their owners

They also say sarcasm is lowest form of wit!

The reply to a comment was made in all good intentions. My friends dog died after eating only a few leaves, would you say the dog over reacted 🤷🏼‍♀️. Also four cats on a local golf resort were were deemed to have been poisoned by eating the shrub at autopsy. Perhaps that vet over reacted.
