Hi looking to perhaps move to Almeria but can't seem to find any winter flights to and from Manchester or East Midlands as would like to go back and forth when we wanted to visit family or them to visit us , so could be a major problem in moving out there.

Anyone encountered this

almeria flights are usually very few in the winter months most people fly into Corvera or Alicante instead and drive or come on the shuttle bus.

Pretty sure Ryanair fly to Manchester on a Tuesday all year round from Almeria.

Nope. Not in the winter. You have to fly to Gatwick and then get train to M/c - but have to book train far in advance as it’s pricey otherwise. The other side of the coin is the flights back from Gatwick leave so early you have to book an o/n hotel room at Gatwick Premier Inn. It all bumps up the cost.

It’s quite expensive to move to Almeria now, post-Brexit the annual income requirement is four times what it was.

We moved from Manchester in 2018 so escaped Brexit. But the Almeria airport planes to/from Manchester only run in the summer. So in winter you have to get Gatwick flights and then train to Manc.

So much easier to travel that bit further to Alicante, more choice of flights, times and prices.

Your best option would be for friends and family to fly into Alicante and either take the shuttle bus, hire car or you pick them up. On a related note, bear in mind that moving over permanently - post Brexit , to become resident here, whilst doable.... is considerably more complicated and expensive than pre Brexit. You'd be advised to take  professional advice on the process, options and what's involved.

Puff

It’s an extra 3 hours drive. Each way.
