Morning All, Great forum. I'm visiting 6-16 September to explore Mojacar and surrounding areas. Nothing better than hearing things/ getting advice from local residents. Would really appreciate meeting up with anyone happy to help. ( Lunch on me) Priority would be finding best area to live, walking distance to everything ( favouring Ventanicas beach) but open to suggestions. Many thanks.

Mojacar is definitely the best área to live in, everything is in walking distance (No matter which part you live in), fabulous beach bars and great community.

I don´t live in Mojacar myself, but I am always there! :)

Good luck with finding the perfect property

Best,

Haylee

Thanks Haylee, I'm looking forward to my visit, everything I've read and seen seems what I'm looking for.

I´m sure you will love it - I fell in love straight away!

Its handy when I live 20 minutes away, I can just take a drive down the beach front anytime

My husband and I  did the same in June and July this year. Found our new home sold our house in England  and are moving at the end of September.

All of Mojacar is lovely , but for permanent home we preferred the area around the commercial centre.

All easy to get to , either on foot or by the cheap bus.

Looking  forward to our first winter in Spain.

Happy to meet up for coffee or lunch sometime ....just send a private message.

Hi ya'll

We're not in Mojacar, having chosen to go inland to a small village called Urcal, featured a couple of times on A place in the Sun. We were put off Mojacar to some small extent by problems during the summer months with bad traffic and crowds and the empty feel in the winter montgs when all the holiday makers had gone back to their respective homes and countries.

Nice local bar, school, doctors small supermarket, 45 mins to the beach, 7 mins from the motorway, 12 minutes to Huercal Overa and we love it.

Round about 6 sets of couples moved into the area within about 6 weeks of each other and with the friendly Spanish everyone has bonded and get along great with everyone else.

We've just today, Christmas day been fortunate with the weather ( and a recent new flyfree enclosure) enjoyed Christmas dinner with family and friends, 7 in all.

We've had very few things that have caused any kinds of problems and since late March when we moved in havent regretted one thing.

Welcome to Spain, wherever you choose to settle.

Hi buddy, We don't live in Mojacar but a little further up the road in Garrucha. We fell in love with the place over a couple of summer visits and decided to sell up in Britain and move out next April/May. Its a really nice area, and yes it does get busy in the summer months with traffic and tourists but it all adds to the atmosphere. To be honest we cant wait to get out here and have a bash full time so to speak,we are not pensioners as such but have taken early retirement from the rat race in the UK. Always wanted to do something different before it got to late so hopefully you will take the bull by the horns and enjoy the moment as we have.

Will take you up on the lunch offer...take a look at the Rooftop café bar on the 3rd floor of the commercial centre for breakfast inspiration, great food, great staff and a great view. You sort out the bacon sandwiches and the coffee is on me :)

Good luck and keep in touch on the forum as there is loads of info about where to eat, drink and shop in the area.

Best wishes for the season,

Kevin & Julie.

Garrucha around the new or recent new marina is a gem I'll agree, we always go there, have something to eat/drink and watch the world go by, 5 minutes down the road is Mojacar with everything it has to offer, Mojacar Pueblo is another gem, all steep steps, lovely square with its restaurants and cracking view.

Hope you can put up with all the traffic, not being able to park, crowds etc etc,

Making the move is a no brainer.

Enjoy.
