Hi

I have just moved to mojacar for the winter with a view to staying if I settle. Looking to make new friends and find new interests. Covid making it harder as some clubs etc closed. I'm in my early 60's not ready for the knitting and slippers yet! I enjoy the old pub quizzes and wondered if there was a team I could join? I am no Einstein but have some brain cells left. Looking for new interests as well so if there is anything out there still open I would love to hear from people.

Lesley

Hi Lesley4,

If you are looking for a fun and not to serious quiz try Bar La Cachimba on Thursday and Saturday evening at 8pm.

Each night has a different quiz master but with a similar format.

Thursday night is 1 round of music related questions followed by 1 round of general knowledge.

Saturday night is 1 round of  mixed music/West End show themes/TV themes followed by 1 round of general knowledge. This round is marked in bingo fashion. Then followed by 1 round of innuendo questions for which you need to be a little broad minded.

Both nights are great fun and we all have a giggle without taking things too seriously.

Bar La Cachimba is located opposite the Hotel Continental and there is a bus stop directly outside.

Hi Graham

I'm in Mojacar I don't have transport at the moment so relying on meeting people around here. If you are in Mojacar anytime we could meet up for a drink. I have met with some really nice people here through the forum but obviously being careful due to covid

Hello Leslie,

I havev lived in Mojacar/Garrucha since January and have found some lovely people to spend time with.  You must come to the Roof Garden every Tuesday at 1.30 where we have a Loose Women group that enjoys a good laugh.  We organise trips to experience areas further afield such as a four night stay in Gibralta at the end of November (still places available) and day trips out.  You can join in games such as Bingo and Higher or Lower if you wish and people sell clothes they no longer need.  My frien and I go to Kukis on a Wednesday night for their quiz and Higher or Lower.  We always come last as a lot of the teams have  people but its just good fun.  We have recently been joined by three others (but we still came last) so there is certainly room for you if you wish to join us.  Drop me a line and we'll take it from there.  We can always meet for coffee.

Take care and I look forward to hearing from you.

Maureen
