i have owned a property in mojacar since 1988 ,paid protetr

I have owned a property in mojacar since 1988,paid property tax all those years ,spent lots of money here and taken nothing out .spain do not own the sun.I can spend six months in spain each year all be it not at one time. The 90 day rule has always  been there although the spainish turned a blind eye to it.I have been told that the spainish are thinking of offering an extended less complicated tourist visa for property owners Could anyone shed a bit more light on this I find it a bit strange that we can spend up to six months in spain per year but not in one go We do not want to be here in the hot summers

Happy new year to everyone

Not at the moment for tourists. It’s Spanish by the way not “spainish”.

Residencia would have been the way but that door is now closed for you,so sadly for the future it will be the 90days (probably) enforced rigidly, unlike in the past

However there has been a change mooted in the work visa system so who knows

1. Nobody is disputing the ownership of the sun.

2. You're not alone in paying taxes in Spain since 1988. Some of us are paying tax there for longer.

3. The majority of British people  voted for the UK to leave the EU and it left. I wish it didn't but it did.

4.Possible Solution:- Get an EU passport if you are entitled to one.

. . . and (nearly forgot!)

5. Happy St-Patrick's Day next month.

Unfortunately the “longer stay tourist visa for property owners” is a myth that raises its head from time to time.  It’s nothing more than wishful thinking.  The only change mooted at the moment is the so-called “digital nomad” visa which will be an extension to the work visa category.  As with the work permit and non lucrative visa, it is intended as a path to residency.

As others have stated, 90 in 180 is your lot I’m afraid.

It’s a good job I don’t need to post on this as I’m always making typos. I take it you never have

Looks like I’ve annoyed a couple of people!

I’m only trying to help, 5 years ago my Spanish teacher used to say she had to teach her English pupils English grammar before trying to teach them Spanish. A genuine typo is fine, but some innocent mistakes can come over as an insult to the Spanish. Also you have the situation where people don’t know what a word is and just use English spelling. An example “ rejas” written as wreckers, lol.

Sorry to have gone off topic.
