It's none of my business (I'm Irish) but some people want the UK government to negotiate with the EU to allow UK residents spend six months per year in the EU. Sign if you wish.

Some people wanted the U.K. to negotiate a Brexit withdrawal with the Eu and look how that’s turned out.

It’s an interesting proposal, but doomed.  If UK negotiates a variation of the Schengen treaty that came into effect in ..  what was it? 1997? then every other third country will want quite rightfully a piece of that action as well ... nullifying the 90 in 180 Schengen regulation.

UK just ISN’T so special that EU would even bother giving this a first look - never mind a second.

I’m not worried about this, but I’m very concerned about the time constraints regarding TIE. Think somebody will have to step in to help Almeria is swamped 🙄🙄🙄🙄

And six million signed a petition seeking a (third) referendum on the matter - called a People’s Vote. That was ignored.

The point is that the U.K. left the EU in January 2020. The EU club rules won’t permit U.K. swallows from a third country to stay more than 90 days at a time. Spain can’t ignore the rules any more than the U.K. could.

ABSOLUTELY NOT.  How many of these holiday makers who want to stay six months will have been brexiteers? I’m very sorry for anyone who voted remain but why should any brexiteers have their cake and eat it. They voted to leave so they can stick to the rules.

Ouch! Thank God, I didn't have a vote in the Brexit Referendum.

Some of us will be pleased to be out and happy to comply with requirements, if that is the cost. We can't have all the best bits it's a negotiation. Whilst the French fishermen shout loud will the German carmaker shout louder.

Well jtp890. You say, and I quote, ‘if that is the cost”. Can you tell us ‘remoaners’ what is the actual benefit from leaving?

Given the utterly TINY percentage of vehicles that Germany exports to UK as opposed to sells at home and in other overseas markets (like Japan, for instance) I can't really see the German car industry making even a squeak.... that's yet another Brexiteer trope that has been thoroughly busted previously I'm afraid.
