Just a note on an often asked topic

Just came through Dover heading for Calais. Passport scanned but not stamped. Asked to show proof of negative lateral flow test and he then asked if I was fully vaccinated and before I could get the NHS app open he waved me through

Just for info really. Easyjet at Almeria Airport checked boaring pass, negative Covid letter and COVID vaccination pass and locator form and proof of day 2 test   We were lucky as had speedy boarding. Passport then stamped  we got on the plane and then it took another 45 mins to board everyone else as the lady that was to sit next to me held up proceedings as she didnt know anything about the locator form so just put in anything. They even took one poor man off the plane as he didnt know about the rule to have a test before boarding and had somehow evaded the gate patrol.  He didnt have a TV or mobile. Nothing was checked at Gatwick so apparently it is all being done at the airport so if you’re travelling home for Christmas make sure you give enough time.

Left Mojacsr on Friday and arrived Cambridgeshire on Monday. No checks on border. No request for passport or Covid cert in any hotel.

.

Had difficulty getting tested in Calais as wevartived Calais on Sunday and all testing facilities were closed.Could Not have found the test Centre without sat nav as it was in at back of shopping precinct. But very efficient.Had result within an hour.Pet control was stringent at Eurotunnel.Scrutinised all documents. No queue.

Have just heard France is closing border to UK on Saturday 18/12 - no travel to or from UK for anything but compelling reasons.  Compelling does not include tourism, see family or even business.

UK passport holders who are French residents are obviously excepted

Time for Spain to do the same. Covid getting out of hand.
