UK shuts the doors

This was always going to happen sooner or later. The pandemic must be overcome and there is only one way to do it i.e. wipe it out before it wipes us out. I have no problem with any country shutting its doors. It should have happened sooner.

i agree with that Matthew it's just a shame it took them so long.  Here in Andalucia we now have confinement to municipalities again from Sunday midnight and 18 villages have all bars and restaurants and non essential shops closed.  here's hoping people will uphold these rules and we can see an end to this.  you can only meet with 4 people now or stay at home in your own household company.

hope it improves in Ireland for you soon too. 

I Agree with both of you, every country should have stopped all exit and entry right from the start, if they had done that at the beginning we might be in a better position now. But they all bowed to commercial pressure. Yes I know people will have lost jobs, and companies closed and life would be very difficult, but better that for a short period, than ending up on a ventilator and having years and years of lockdowns, and total caos. 

It’s a bit late (as I have said elsewhere): shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Covid rampant in the UK and most other places (I know there are places in the Far East which seem to have managed it; my son is in Vietnam which has very low rates but if there is an outbreak in a street, those in the street are escorted to isolation centres by armed police.  So, effective enforcement).
