I got my residency last year and attempted to change my British license for a Spanish one. I now understand I was supposed to inform Traffico before the Brexit deadline.
I am now in limbo - I can’t apply for a Spanish license but my UK license will cease to be valid by the end of June.
Does anyone have any further information on this subject?
the Gov info site says that they will update with info regarding those who registered for residency before Jan 1 but failed to reg with Traffico to change a driving licence as there may be new regulations. otherwise you will have to go down the driving school route and and driving test in Spanish.

Does anyone have any further information on this subject?
We have just had our residency approved and are awaiting an appointment in Almeria for fingerprints etc (Easter hold up). Our solicitor has said we can exchange our driving licences as our application was submitted before 31/12/2020. I believe we have until June to make the exchange.

But in theory you should have informed Traffico in 2020. If you didn't do that, you (like us) are in limbo with regards the exchange. I check the British Government website regularly but it still has no information as to how people in our position are to exchange their licences. Its part of the current negotiation between the British Government and the EU, I assume and hopefully we will hear soon because we are legally only allowed to drive on British licences until the end of June.

Sorry to bother everyone - bumping this thread in case anyone has any news on this front (i.e. whether Spain has changed its position on allowing UK licences to be exchanged despite no notice given pre-end of 2020)?
If not/negative, can anyone recommend and English speaking driving school or instruction in the region Mojacar/Carboneras? Many thanks :)
