Hi - I’m sure this question has been asked already . Am I right, I can still hire a car with my UK licence up to the end of October ?
Yes. Still part of the EU.
I’m not sure whether it’ll change after December either (there are a couple of people on here who will know)

Yep, you are good up until end of December, when transition period ends.
After that, I believe you will need an IDP as well as licence if you want to hire a car. (It’s worth contacting the various car hire companies and just making certain they are not already requesting an IDP - they shouldn’t be buuuuuuut ......)

Yes. Although we left the EU and ‘got Brexit done’ on 31 January, we are still in the Transitional period until 31 December. After that date visitors/tourists can still use U.K. licences but will also need an International Driving Permit - from local post office.
